Hahn Airport in Germany has implemented targeted bird control measures to ensure safe flight operations by preventing birds from landing near the runway. Several bird species in the area have been identified as posing a risk to aircraft, particularly during takeoff and landing.
To mitigate this hazard, the airport has deployed the Purivox TA-RC System, a propane gas cannon designed to deter birds through loud, periodic bangs. The system is strategically installed in protection areas adjacent to the runway and functions by producing high-impact acoustic signals that scare birds away from the airfield.
This approach is part of Hahn Airport’s broader safety and wildlife management strategy, helping to reduce bird strike risks and maintain uninterrupted air traffic operations.
