Frankfurt Airport has implemented bird control measures to address the increasing presence of starlings and crows in the vicinity of active runway zones. These species pose a potential hazard to aircraft operations. To reduce the risk of bird strikes, a BirdGard Box has been installed. This device uses targeted acoustic deterrents, including species-specific distress calls, to discourage birds from entering protected areas. Ongoing monitoring and system adjustments are in place to ensure continued effectiveness.
