At Air Transport Wing 62 in Wunstorf, modern bird control systems are deployed to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment at the military airfield. Various bird species can pose a potential risk to flight operations, particularly during take-off and landing, where the risk of bird strikes can be increased.
To provide targeted and effective bird deterrence, a total of 4 Purivox TA-RC systems with stainless-steel pipes are installed. The systems enable precise and controlled bird dispersal and support the overall measures implemented to reduce the risk of bird strikes.
The objective of the bird control measures is to minimize the presence of birds in flight-critical areas and thereby contribute to safe, reliable, and efficient flight operations at Air Transport Wing 62.
